Seventh Generation Headquarters
Burlington, Vermont
Design development and construction details for three key ‘green’ features as part of the LEED-CI Gold interior renovation, which also expresses the mission of the largest manufacturer of chemical-free household products in the US. The living wall planted with contaminant filtering vines connects visitors to nature upon arrival at the office entry. The circular pool of local granite, slate and fieldstone anchors the central stair corridor. These stone materials are repeated outdoors where staff relaxes and meets on the colorful edible and native wildflower roof terrace garden.

Collaboration with William Maclay Architects.

 



Teton Springs Lodge
Victor, Idaho
Master plan and site design for a vibrant outdoor plaza and pedestrian street embraced by two high-end lodges, restaurants and retail stores, all which serve as the commercial center of a new planned residential community. Visitors will stroll the creatively paved street and congregate in this vibrant public space, which features a central pool for summer wading and winter skating, fireplace during cool evenings, lively outdoor dining patios, and colorful courtyard gardens of native wildflowers. Design also includes grading, drainage and lighting plans.

Collaboration with Truex Cullins Architects.

 



The Johnson Talc Mill Recreation Park
Johnson, Vermont
Closure and reclamation plans for the abandoned 15-acre
tailings site of the former Johnson Talc Mill located along the Lamoille River and adjacent to the Johnson town center. Master plan and site design for a new community recreation park for the Town of Johnson on the site of the capped tailings. Today, residents from the region enjoy baseball, softball, soccer and the playground, all within a five minute walk from town via the street or connecting trails. Organized and facilitated community forums to assess recreational needs and develop consensus. Guided the project through local and state permitting.

 



Episcopalian Diocese of Vermont
at Rock Point

Burlington, Vermont
Development of a mission statement and land use management plan for the Episcopalian Diocese of Vermont, who owns the rugged peninsula that embraces the north end of Burlington Bay in Lake Champlain. This environmentally sensitive and historically rich 75-acre property is visited year round by geologists, naturalists,school groups and local residents for its rich composition of unusual natural features and fascinating human history. The owners wish to protect it as a vital educational, recreational, and spiritual resource for the church and public communities. Organized and facilitated community forum to assess needs and develop consensus.

 



The Home Farm Resort
Stowe, Vermont
Master plan and site design for the renovation and expansion of a deteriorating resort, formerly a farmstead, located in a large meadow along busy Route 100 with vistas to Mt. Mansfield. The refurbished resort offers visitors a charming, updated farm-guest house, cozy restored cottages nestled in an intimate garden setting, new swimming pool / hot tub complex, recreation fields and walking paths through the meadow.

 



Main Street Enhancement
Milton, Vermont
Master plan and construction details for sidewalks, bike
lanes, street trees and lighting for a safe, more intimate neighborhood. Conducted existing street tree inventory.

 



Village Streetscape Enhancement
Stowe, Vermont
Master plan and construction details for street trees, sidewalks, lighting and outdoor spaces for a more pedestrian-friendly village. Conducted existing street tree inventory. Organized and facilitated community forum to assess needs and develop consensus.



Mountain Meadow Homes
Stowe, Vermont
Site plan, local /state permitting, and landscape design for a new 6-unit condominium complex.



Bear Path Condominiums
Burke, Vermont
Landscape renovation plan for a hillside condominium complex near Burke Mountain Ski area. Collaboration with Black River Design.

 



The Swimming Hole
Stowe, Vermont
Master plan, site design and grading plan for a new community pool and fitness center. Extensive evaluation with the team of various potential sites within the town, which led to the current central location adjacent to the town-owned farm, school recreation fields, popular bike path, and the Little River. Collaboration with Bargmann Architects.



North Country Animal League
Morrisville, Vermont
Master plan, site design and local/state permitting for a new high tech animal shelter facility serving Lamoille County and Northeast Vermont. Key features include architectural and landscape integration with the agrarian context, visual indoor/outdoor connections for animal contentment, trails for dog exercising, and dense native plantings for sound mitigation.

 



El Desemboque Resort Community
Sonora, Mexico
Feasibility study for a new commercial and residential town,
and new planned resort community located along the northeast coast of the Sea of Cortez. Phase 2 master planning and permitting to follow.

 



Wells River Savings Bank
Thetford, Vermont
Master plan and site design for new bank facility located in a rapidly expanding eastern Vermont commercial district.
Challenges includedincorporating a long approach to the
drive-thru tellers and sufficient parking during large traffic volume hours without dominating the building, outdoor plaza and walkways. Collaboration with Black River Design.

 



School Street Sidewalk and
Restaurant Renovation

Stowe, Vermont
Design for a new public sidewalk, village gathering space, and renovation of the restaurant’s outdoor dining terrace, all located at a key intersection on Main Street.



St. John’s Episcopalian Church
in the Mountains

Stowe, Vermont
Site plan, local and state permitting, and landscape design for expansion and renovation of the church and property.
